Jump to Recipe

Make your mornings a little sweeter with these Simple Breakfast Pastries. These tasty bites are made with just a few simple things and a bit of fun, perfect for starting your day with something delicious.

Start by preheating the oven to 350°F. Then roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Use your fingers to press the dough triangles together into square shapes. Trim the edges to make perfect squares - this is the base for your pastries.

Now for the fun part - filling them! Spoon a dollop of rich, creamy cheese into the center of each square. Sprinkle on some bright lemon zest and top with a generous spoonful of sweet strawberry jam.

Fold up the corners over the filling, crisscrossing them in the center and pinching to seal in all the flavors.

Arrange the filled pastries on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven. After about 10 minutes, they'll emerge golden brown and crispy.

Let cool slightly before diving in, as the filling will be very hot. Then enjoy! Each pastry delivers a wonderful surprise blend of cheese, citrus and fruit.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface and use fingers to press together triangles into a square shape. Trim edges to make a perfect square.
  3. Spoon 1 tablespoon of cream cheese into center of each pastry square. Top with a sprinkle of lemon zest and 1 tablespoon of strawberry jam.
  4. Pull up opposite corners of each pastry, pinching in the center, then repeat with opposite corners.
