Crispy Peanut Butter Bombs

Jump to Recipe

Got a major sweet tooth? Get ready to satisfy even the strongest candy craving with these insanely delicious crispy peanut butter chocolate balls. One bite of these sweet treats will send your taste buds into total euphoria!

First, melt some creamy butter in the microwave until smooth and pourable. Stir in a heaping amount of rich, velvety peanut butter along with a cup of powdered sugar. Mix until fully combined, then add in crispy rice cereal until every piece gets coated in sweet buttery goodness.

After chilling the mixture for just 10 minutes, use a spoon or cookie scoop to form balls of crispy, peanut-y delight. Try to make them uniform in size for the perfect bite-sized explosions of flavor. Pop the balls in the fridge to firm up while you melt the chocolate coating.

For an extra dose of decadence, opt for your favorite creamy milk or dark chocolate bars. The chocolate will transform from solid bars to glossy liquid as you microwave, while stirring often. Once completely smooth, dunk those cereal balls in the chocolate until well-coated and then put back in the fridge for a final chill.

Finally, drizzle extra melted chocolate or swirl on peanut butter for a decorative touch before indulging. With just 20 minutes of prep time, you'll have a generous batch of 20 perfect, snackable candies. A fair warning - these sweet treats vanish quickly, so consider making a double or triple batch for gatherings or stash them in the freezer to ensure you're never without your peanut butter fix!

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, microwave butter for 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in peanut butter and powdered sugar until combined. Add crisp rice and stir until well combined.
  2. Drop spoonfuls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Roll into uniform balls and refrigerate another 20 minutes.
  3. Add chocolate to a medium bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.
  4. Coat balls with chocolate and place back on baking sheet. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until chocolate is set. Drizzle melted chocolate or peanut butter on top, if desired.
