Easter Egg Cookie

A fun and interactive way for the kids to play with cookie dough, creating their own individual egg design.


  1. Divide each package into four separate portions. Place each portion into a small plastic zip bag. Add the food coloring combinations to each bag. Massage the bag to combine food coloring with the cookie dough. Remove the dough, wrap in plastic. Chill the dough at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°.
  3. Divide each dough portion in half and flatten on a parchment paper to 6x1x¼- inch rectangles. Layer the dough 5-6 layers high, using multiple colors of your choice. Roll the dough lengthwise to form a cylinder. Repeat with remaining dough to create different layered eggs.
  4. Using a sharp knife, slice the rolls into ¼-inch slices. Press the slices into an egg shape. Place on a baking tray ½-inch apart and bake for 10-14 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.

TIP: For a spotted egg, shape a small ball of dough and randomly place between dough layers.
